Tax Manager - 9-Month Contract (Hybrid - Waltham, MA) 2 days in office

Possibility for permanent hire

Pay: $70-$90/hour or depending on experience

Duration: Dec 1st-Oct 1st 2026

Overview:

Our client, a global company based in Waltham, MA, is seeking a skilled Tax Manager for a 9-month contract assignment with potential for permanent placement. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work on complex U.S. and international tax matters within a dynamic, SEC-reporting environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare quarterly and annual U.S. (federal and state) and international tax provisions, including ASC 740 disclosures.
  • Partner with external auditors during tax provision audits.
  • Oversee preparation and review of federal, state, and international income tax returns.
  • Manage filing calendar, extensions, and estimated payments.
  • Collaborate with external advisors on R&D tax credit calculations.
  • Research and resolve tax notices and support audit closure activities.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure SOX 404 compliance for tax processes.
  • Conduct tax research and monitor legislative and regulatory changes affecting the business.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Taxation; CPA and/or MST strongly preferred.
  • 5-7 years of corporate or public accounting experience with multi-state and SEC reporting exposure.
  • Advanced knowledge of ASC 740, including stock-based compensation and uncertain tax positions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with LongView a plus.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
  • Proven success managing year-end tax provisions and complex compliance processes.
